I still can't figure out why they moved it from previous editions. but there is nothing wrong with the book itself. It just took a minute to find that page the first time since it wasn't where i expected it to be.

Tamara Tramble Anderson’s endearing story is beautifully supplemented by Gabrielle Bachland’s illustrations. The author cleverly added an extra layer of interaction for her readers by including a lady bug to be found on every page of this delightful book The well written, meaningful message of the book and its gently softened illustrations are lovely and will have a calming effect on your little one, which makes “Fuzzy Bunny” a perfect choice for a wonderful bedtime story!

They are 6 and 3 years old and have already experienced teasing from their friends. This tender story focusses on the positive rather than the negative attributes of being different. We had a lively discussion about diversity and kindness upon completion of the story. Big thumbs up!

Review A say-along, sing-along invitation introduces the art of birding by ear through simple, recognizable bird songs and sounds and, mostly, familiar birds.From the "Cheery up? Cheerio!" of the robin to the "tap, tap, tap" of the downy woodpecker, each spread includes a common phonetic description of a bird's sound ("Oh Sweet Canada"; "Who cooks for you"; "Chick-a-dee-dee-dee") and where and when the bird might be found. Spare illustrations accurately show the birds and something of their environments: a yellow warbler on a cattail, a mallard in a pond, a house sparrow on a brick wall. Many of the birds are familiar daytime visitors to backyards and parks; young readers are less likely to encounter nocturnal singers like the barred owl, whip-poor-will and woodcock. A few are specifically northern or eastern. The Anna's hummingbird is only found on the Pacific coast, but its sound and appearance are not too unlike its eastern ruby-throated counterpart. Further information is included in the backmatter, where readers will find a description of the male woodcocks' dance and the advice to "pinch your nose shut" while imitating the call of the white-breasted nuthatch. He laughed out-loud at every time I made the noises of the birds in the book. He made me read it three times in a row. He would have gone for 4 but I cut him off. I have read him the other books in this series (http://www.amazon.com/Noisy-Frog-Sing-Along-John-Himmelman/dp/1584693401) and (http://www.amazon.com/Noisy-Bug-Sing-Along-John-Himmelman/dp/1584691921/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_y) and the next times we walked my kids were much more in tune to the sounds of bugs and frogs. I am sure this will be no different. Looking forward to spring so we can try to find and hear as many of these birds as possible.

The print book and e-book includes large, colorful illustrations of robins, sparrows, owls, mallards, and more. Colorful text is used to introduce the sound of each bird. In addition to information about the bird and sound, the habits and habitat of each bird is described.This easy concept book would be an effective way to introduce young children to informational reading. In addition, the text is easy enough for primary grade readers to enjoy independently. The Fun Facts and Things to Do pages are useful for older children, teachers, and parents.Active listening is an important skill. From the Author Author Henry Walton has invented several products of questionable value over the years. None of these have made it to market. And that is probably for the better. His journeys through the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia have led him to the epic conclusion - The world is Absolutely Brilliant. Difficult sometimes. Confusing often. But humorous almost always. Thaddeaus Shockpocket is Henry's first book series for young adults.Illustrator William Kevin Petty studied archeology and worked in museums during his 20's. His love of history, science and technology combined with world travel while in the service shaped his techno-whimsical illustration style and made him the perfect selection for Thaddeaus Shockpocket. Kevin has illustrated several books and posters in the Steampunk genre.

About the Author Henry Walton is the author of the popular humorous Steampunk adventure series The Journals of Thaddeaus Shockpocket. He attended university with the initial intent of becoming a full-time writer but ended up with a science degree. Consequently, his creative writing went to the backburner and he set off on a career in high technology and traveled the world for both work and pleasure. Running global sales and marketing organizations gave Henry plenty of opportunity to hone his writing skills in the form of magazine columns, innumerable technical papers, and copy for several award winning international advertising and marketing campaigns.Several years ago he returned to creative writing and created The Journals of Thaddeaus Shockpocket, a tongue-in-cheek account of the misadventures of a turn-of-the-century English family of inventors and explorers. Henry's confesses that Thaddeaus Shockpocket's combination of adventurer and absent minded inventor comes largely from his father, an RAF pilot in World War II that fit the stereotype of dapper English officer and gentleman. His father was also a prolific home project builder whose creations, as often as not, turned out a bit off-kilter. Also a bit like Thaddeaus, Henry has invented several products of questionable value over the years, none of which have made it to market, and that is probably for the better.Henry attributes much of the success of his books to utilizing humorous short vignettes that weave together into a larger story of a unique family that prevails in spite of themselves. The ease of reading has also made the series popular with reluctant readers in addition to readers at large. To date, the first two books in the series have been published and the third is scheduled to be published in late 2015 or early 2016.

I can't tell you without spoiling this great horror story, but Gareth Topping does it. Reading this, I felt like I was right there in the mud and chaos with Sergeant-Major George Bull, the compassionate but no-nonsense protagonist who must lead his men against an enemy he could never have expected.I was riveted by Topping's depiction of the anxiety and resignation leading up to a fateful charge across "no-man's land." My hands were actually sweating as Bull and his troops went "over the top," with Bull hoping against hope that he--or any of them--would survive. What happens to them is NOT what you'd expect. Not at all.Read this story now!

By Jackie Slevin Wonderful debut novel!This historical novel takes place in London during the 1660s while telling the story of the renowned astrologer William Lilly and his practice of the "observational philosophy" of astrology. The author's research into the London of Lilly's time, the bubonic plague, and Lilly's prediction and subsequent indictment of Great Fire of London make gripping reading for all ages. The sharply drawn characters speak to us across the centuries, giving the reader deep insight into the daily lives of common and uncommon citizens, the art and science of astrology, its practitioners, and society's treatment of those who think outside the box, for better or worse. Highly recommended for anyone with an inquiring mind, especially for those who have seen astrology work in one form or another. Bravo, Mr. Venables!

It is a great mix of facts and fiction, and is gripping from the very start. It follows the story of young Tom, who meets renowned Astrologer William Lilly(who he later on becomes apprenticed to). A tragic tale of love and loss, Tom has to push himself through some very tough times.I couldn’t put down this book and would recommend it to any reader, young or old.

I don't usually like historical period books but this one caught my interest right away and I had to find out what happens to these endearing characters. Thanks Julian! I can't wait till the next one.
