He started reading "Into The Wild", (about the little kittypet cat Rusty who is later to be known as the great warrior, Fireheart), while in third grade. I started reading and can't put these books down. Erin Hunter captures cat behaviors well. Although the books are written for children, and teens, any age could enjoy them.The books touch on the environmental impact of the "two legs" and how it effects the ability of the four clans to survive. There is something that should be noted about the Thunderclan Warrior Code. We humans would be in a much better place if more of us adopted the same values. Intrigue, deception, betrayal,romance, suspense-reflecting life and its drama- they are well written, I love these books, but later had to buy the set of six to give to my grand son. This is a good starter set, but if you or your child(ren) are really into the Warrior Series then buy the set of 6 instead.

Our cats at home are now part of the different cat clans from the story. ;) My only recommendation is these books are not for very young or not very skilled readers.

I bought it specifically for the Great depression period, cause I wanted to learn more about it. If you are writing a college paper or just want to read an authoritative book on the subject, read this book. I was impressed with how thoroughly the author detailed the people, the times, and the policies that were enacted and kept the book moving along. There are details and more details. Scholarly but not distanced, well grounded, supported by the facts and well written. The entire population should read this book to familiarize themselves with the consequences of utopian policies.Overall, I would recommend this volume to anyone who has an interest in what effect this horrendous economic crisis had on the people of America. This is by far the best book I have read on the Great Depression.

Winn I loved this book and can see how great it will be for children and young adults who want to learn history. The pictures are great and the author touched on quite a lot of history and did it in a fun way that makes learning less a chore and more an adventure for hungry minds. I think this would also be a great book to share adults to child and vice versa. Yes, it is simple history, but it is also informative, fun and a must have book.

I like how you can really feel as if you're there with Fireheart as he struggles with his new duties as deputy. I love the character of Cloudpaw, and how he has a whole different personality than the other characters in the book- he's more laid back and not as noble. I really wasn't expecting the Fireheart/Sandstorm relastionship, but it was a great thing to put into the series, as you'll see in the books to come.For a summary of the book- Fireheart, now Clan deputy, must figure out how to juggle his new duties and still have time to worry about the still-lurking Tigerclaw in the forest, along with the fact that the weather in the forest is heating up, and his wayward apprentice isn't proving to the Clan that kittypets really can be warrriors. Along with that, his leader is a shell of her former self, and it's up to FIreheart to hide her weakened state to the Clan.The deaths in the book are handled well, you still feel sad but not to the point when you just don't want to read it because it's deppressing. I loved the cliffhanger ending, and was glad that I had bought the 5th book at the same time so I could read it right away!

Warriors: Book Four Rising Storm By A Customer I have now read all the books that have come out in this series so far, and I have to say "Fire and Ice" is my favorite. In the fourth book, Fireheart is now the clan deputy, and his apprentice, Cloudpaw, has seriously been breaking the warrior code. Also, Bluestar, the clan leader, is still very upset about Tigerclaw. So upset, she doesn't care about her clan. Of course, Tigerclaw does return, first striking a Thunderclan patrol with his rogue cats, killing a warrior, and again towards the end in a position of power. Graystripe, Fireheart's friend, has a small part in this book and meets Firheart at the side of the river. Ravenpaw also comes in, helping Fireheart and Sandstorm escape from Twoleg dogs and find a lost apprentice. Fireheart is getting used to his new position, but then a fire starts and the coming rain isn't enough to stop the fire or save a few clan members, who were trapped in the camp. This makes Bluestar even angrier with Starclan, and she refuses to go to the Gathering. Fireheart must go in her place, and he's in for a surprise when he's sees the new leader of another Clan. I can't wait for book five!

I have read the whole series, and each book just keeps getting better and better. They're better than Harry Potter, and any other book you can think of. Most people think it is stupid because they're talking cats! Take my friend for example. She made fun of me because i love the books, but when she started them she became just as obsessed as i am ( well, i don't think anybody can love the books as much as i do ). You have to read this book. you will love it. Almost every thing happens in this book. but read the first 3 before you start, or you won't understand it and you won't know most of the things they talk about.

The drawings are great as you can see silly Bert wondering if he can jump and fly. I'd say the illustrations are priceless. Great book.

With the encouragement of his friends, however, Bert may just discover that, yes, he can do it!This is a quick read with few words and simple but expressive illustrations. It's well suited to reading aloud, and the twist at the end will likely surprise many students. Would work especially well as a boost before students embark on a difficult project or test. Would also be a great beginner for a discussion on anxiety, fear, and how to approach scary tasks.
