Middleton I ordered this set not knowing precisely what to expect; it has become critical. Their terse explanation of regulation helps to ensure that one creates a culture of compliance that is flexible and can expand, which is meant to be the point. I recommend this set highly.

Hot off cracking his first official case, Frankie Dupont is on the scene when his new teacher takes ill. The pint-sized detective suspects a classic case of sour grapes, but the evidence leads him to the one place he wouldn’t mind avoiding for the rest of his natural life. Enderby Manor has a few more secrets up her sleeve, and as Frankie begins to unravel them, he uncovers a plot stinkier than a sardine sandwich. In Book 2 of the Frankie Dupont Mysteries, Frankie will make some new friends, upset some old ones, and of course, there will be lemon meringue pie. For ages 8-12

Frankie Dupont And The Lemon Festival Fiasco (Frankie Dupont Mysteries Book 2), by Julie Grasso

Review Review by Jennifer Graham for ABCJenny dot comPlot twists, clues, suspects and crime, all the ingredients you need for a good mystery which Julie Anne Grasso delivers in the second in her Frankie Dupont series, Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco. In her first book, Frankie Dupont and the Mystery at Enderby Manor, the opening scene launched you straight into the mystery behind the black envelope. There is also no slow start in Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco, with the introduction of the INVADERS and the INVASION. Immediately mystery reading skills were on high alert as we wanted to know who the invaders were. Julie Anne Grasso introduces children to unpredictability. To read a book not only for comprehension but to look for clues towards solving the mystery. The best part of the Frankie Dupont series is the main character, Frankie. He is not a naughty child with an attitude, he respects adults (even those he feels doesn't deserve it, like Inspector Cluesome), he is responsible for his dog and genuinely thinks of others. It is great to support a book which includes an appropriate role model for children even if he gets himself into some sticky situations. Overall, Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco is well-written, portrays good role models, and a fun read. I would recommend it as an inclusion in any home or school setting and suitable for children aged 8 - 12 years of age.

The Lemon Festival Fiasco By Stacie Theis Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco is a scrumptious mystery that easily immerses young readers as they join Frankie as he uncovers puzzling clues and poison lemons in his least favorite place of all, Enderby Manor.Frankie can't wait to show off his dog, Sherlock, to his class, but shortly after school begins catastrophe strikes. Miss Chestnut presents Mr. Mullberry with a lemon pie, but after one bit he becomes violently ill. One whimper from Sherlock alerts Frankie to a possible poisoning. Wasting no time he rushes home and tests the pie and confirms his suspicions. Certain Miss Chestnut is to blame, Frankie rushes back to school only to find his class boarding a bus for a trip to a place he'd rather avoid, Enderby Manor. Once they arrive at Enderby Frankie, along with Kat and Amy, discover more than they bargained for. The "lemon pie poisoning" is no longer an open and shut case and Frankie must work quickly if he wants to catch the culprit. The Lemon Festival Fiasco is the second book in the Frankie Dupont series and to the delight of myself (and I'm sure young readers) many of the eccentric, know-it-all, and hilarious characters return. Madame Mercure is one of my favorite characters. She's such a snob and appalled by all people below her class especially the "little germ incubators," otherwise known as children. I like how the story unfolds. It starts out with an attention grabbing crime which is not easily solved, compelling readers to continue on the trail of clues with Frankie until the mystery is solved. The story is well crafted, the characters are entertaining and there are even a few fun illustrations readers will appreciate. I think this is a perfect story for 2nd and 3rd graders, although some older children will also enjoy it. Reading Book 1 is a must, as the prior case and characters are referenced often in Book 2.I highly recommend picking up a copy of Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco.

This time with his cousin Kat, and classmate Amy, along with a little help from his friend Lachy from the first book.Frankie’s class has been combined with another, and when Miss Chestnut presents head teacher Mr. Mulberry with a poisoned lemon pie, Frankie is on it! Amy provides some inside information about Miss Chestnut directly from the school office. It seems Miss Chestnut certainly had motive, but on the day that the class goes to Enderby Manor to pick lemons for the lemon festival, Frankie botches his interrogation. He also runs into some of the Manor characters who appeared in book 1, all the while avoiding Meredith, now running Evelyn’s cupcake shop, and Madame Mecurre. Add to it that Frankie is also keeping Amy at arm’s length and out of the investigation, with Kat playing the middle man. It makes for an interesting and complex set-up in addition to the investigation itself.Frankie and Kat manage to get quite a few clues from around Enderby Manor, with Amy helping cover them. Frankie also meets Meredith and thanks her for her generosity from book 1, which he did not want to do. However, Evan the chef and Madame Mecurre are both acting strangely. After the day of picking lemons prior, Madame Mecurre goes ape on Miss Chestnut and the students about the lemon orchard. The next day, something disastrous has happened to the lemon orchard. Frankie is running out of time to discover who is at the bottom of this mess, and it appears that the motive is to get their hands on Enderby Manor in order to sell it. Frankie runs down his list of suspects and reveals all at the Lemon Festival which has indeed turned into a fiasco.

His dad, Inspector Cluesome, has provided the incentive for his ten year old son to follow in his footsteps. In his first book of adventures, Frankie solved the mystery of Elderby Manor. He returns to that setting in Book 2 to solve the mystery of what happened to the lemon orchard. At the outset the reader meets Frankie and Sherlock attending the new composite class at Maizon Valley Elementary School. His cousin, Kat, and friend Amy will again use their smarts to help Frankie solve the case. Almost as soon as class begins, Miss Chestnut presents a lemon meringue pie to the new head teacher, Mr. Mulberry, who immediately becomes ill. Frankie is determined to find out why. When Miss Chestnut brings the class to the lemon orchard at Elderby Manor to pick lemons for the festival, everyone living and working there is under suspicion, One by one Frankie and his friends interrogate suspects and use their detective equipment to eliminate the innocent and find the culprit. There are enough twists and turns to keep the plot interesting and the reader guessing, and the characters are believable and humorous. The illustrator, Andrew Avellino, presents charming pencil drawings for each chapter. Book length is just around 100 pages, perfect for the eight to twelve age group. Look forward to joining Frankie again in Book 3 when the science fair will be sabotaged. Available in kindle and paperback editions

From the back cover: Why are there mosques in America? Why are witches' covens allowed to openly operate in America? Why is Satanism "legally" protected in America? Why is "The Greater Church of Lucifer" allowed to open in America? DO AMERICANS HAVE A "GOD-GIVEN RIGHT" TO WORSHIP FALSE GODS...INCLUDING THE DEVIL HIMSELF? "The Is No God-Given Right To Worship False Gods" explores these vital questions and seeks biblical answers as to what true, life-giving religious liberty is...and what it is not. In a compilation of timely and provocative articles chronicling America's embrace of Islam, witchcraft and even Satanism in the name of "liberty", Christians are challenged to test all things - including their most cherished notions of freedom, liberty and patriotism - in light of Scripture, so that they might shake off and expose the propaganda and deception that has defined our age.

Sherlock Academy, by F. C. Shaw

Review For anyone who's ever wanted to be Sherlock Holmes, this is your chance. --Adam Glendon Sidwell, Bestselling Author of Evertaster

About the Author F.C. Shaw started writing stories when she was eight years old. She loves children's stories, Sherlock Holmes, and mysteries, so had to write a book combining all three. She spends her afternoons writing for kids, and her nights dreaming of new stories. She lives with her husband and two sons in a home they have ambitiously dubbed The Manor in California. When she's not plotting stories, she teaches visual arts in local schools and enjoys a good game of Scrabble.

Not unlike Harry, the book's protagonist, 11-year-old Rollie receives a mysterious letter in the mail inviting him to train at the Sherlock Academy of Fine Sleuths. Joined by his best friend Cecily, the duo set out to solve the mystery of a burglary committed within the school walls. Sound familiar? It hits all the notes of Harry Potter in just the right ways, but I also found myself reveling in the wealth of Sherlock Holmes trivia and references.I remember reading the Hound of the Baskervilles when I was in middle school and being captivated by its very clever plot, which has in turn made me adore the mystery and thriller genre. The BBC Sherlock has those same qualities and I was delighted to find them in Sherlock Academy as well (although perhaps at a little less knuckle-biting pace).Either way, if you love Harry Potter and/or Sherlock Homes you won't be disappointed! It feels magical to fall into this world of detectives and mysteries which normally end up as TV shows or books meant for adults brought to that familiar arena of kids growing up and learning life lessons along the way, very much in the way that has become second nature to me thanks to J.K. Rowling. I can't wait to read more in the series, it will be like waiting for a new Harry Potter book each year!

Shaw Sherlock Academy introduces readers to the wonderful world of Sherlock Holmes as seen through the eyes of Rollie, a 10-year old student who attends Sherlock Academy of Fine Sleuths.Readers will love learning more about the intriguing world of Sherlock Holmes. You'll also love being introduced to the winsome, original characters of the series--my personal favorite is Mr. Chad. The progressively curious surroundings of the school add to the charm of this book.Kids (ages 9-12) will love reading as the mysteries unfold and parents will enjoy the strong character values shared throughout the book. This book is a must-have!

I'm already looking forward to the Christmas special this year. Like the show, this book is a new take on Sherlock. It makes the classic stories accessible for a new generation of kids. It's like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter meets Benedict Cumberpatch.

A Story to Reacquaint You With Hope Evander is beloved by his people. He leads his band of hunters into the foothills, snatching food from the mouths of the Shadow Wolves. He rides out against the dragons that descend from their lairs in the Pallid Peaks. He shelters an orphaned girl who escapes the wolves and appears on his doorstep in the heart of winter. The people of Holt would follow him anywhere. Or so it seems. His mother's visions of a great light called the sun have driven her mad. But they've shaped her son's mind and invaded his heart. He begins to think it possible that a sunlit world could indeed lie somewhere over the mountains. He begins to hope, to plan. But many in the prosperous village of Holt think Evander's notion of the sun is no more than a child's tale. The fate of his people rests on his choice. And the Shadow is watching. A story that takes place before the tale of Amos, Simeon, Phebe, and Isolde in Shiloh, Seeker is the second book in The Shiloh Series.

These fictional stories are full of truth: beautiful, daring, not sugar-coated, hopeful. The thoughts and emotions of the characters resonated with me. Even though the physical realities of our worlds are very different, I related to the personal challenges of the characters' relationships and communities. I will reread this book and every other book in the series. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer. The ending was wrapped up quickly, and I would've loved to have journeyed on with the characters, enjoying more details of the final events.

Sorensen does a fine job of fleshing out her characters in a way that gives them a dimension that keeps the pages turning just as much as the plot does.Tolkien influenced with its heroic themes and other-world adventure, all the while remaining wholly original, this novel is definitely worth a read......and this recommendation comes from a reader who is not naturally drawn to the fantasy genre.

By Janna Barber Seek tells the story of the Sun Clan, a tribe that lived many years before Amos and Simeon in Shiloh. Seeker is about what happened to that tribe to make it disappear, as well as the heroic adventures of various members of the tribe, whose stories became the legends which inspired Amos' family to hope. Hope is a most mysterious human habit. There's no predictor for who will turn out to be a hopeful person, yet sometimes people in the worst circumstances turn out to be the ones with the most powerful hope. Seeker showed me character after character who refused to give up hope, no matter how dark the circumstances got, and it I found it completely inspiring.
