This novella is set in the very last days of World War II and it is the prequel to the SEKRET series. In it, we learn the backstory of Yulia's parents and the other adult characters in SEKRET. With the release this week (2015 April 7) of SKANDAL, the second book of the series, KURSED was a very welcome read to become reacquainted with all the richly developed characters. I love these books. The author has quite a gift at writing suspense, intrigue, heartbreak, humor, and joy. Her writing involves all of your senses. The use of music is especially inspired. I can't wait to read SKANDAL - and whatever else Ms Smith writes in the future.

Cute stories and fun illustrations By chouse1125 We've started buying these books instead of greeting cards for family--for between $2 and $4, it's the same price for a keepsake that the kids can share with Grandparents. These stories are sweet and there are quirky fun things in the illustrations that make the books fun to read over and over again.

It features a lot of paintings and art pieces that are not often seen, so the material is very fresh and relevant. Too many of these kids' art books show the same paintings over and over again, so this is a welcome change. The activities that the book presents in conjunction with each piece are unique and interesting, too. A great change of pace. The layout is great, the text is concise and informative without being too wordy, and the color prints of the artwork are a terrific size that spans two pages. BRAVO!
