I wish I had read the other poor reviews. It is poorly written and the information is nothing that you won't learn from playing the game a few times. It looks like it was a self published book as it is poorly edited and poorly organized. The chapter review is at the back of the book? Amazon was incredibly helpful in working with me to get a refund. If I could i would give this minus stars I would. Buyer beware...there is better info on the website than you will find here.

I went through the book and simultaneously would go back and forth between my area I had built and the book. I came away with a little bit better understanding of game play and how to build my Fort better. This is an easy book to read and great for beginners and pretty good for intermediate players (and therefore worth the money) . Advanced players I'm sure already know what's in this book.

After two kids stumble into Jonathan Chiller's shop in HorrorLand, they soon discover that a magical Floig (a stuffed animated creature with buggy frog eyes) belongs to an alien called a Weirdo, whom they later meet in the real world, where the two kids, Meg and Chris, are in serious danger. When the children discover that Bim the Weirdo feeds on human emotions, they realize how easy it will be to make the pesky alien disappear forever. After Bim returns to his home planet, Meg returns to HorrorLand on Halloween to play a scary game for Jonathan Chiller. If she wins, Meg gets to go home. But if she loses, she must stay in HorrorLand forever. Someone is stealing Meg's idenity. It turns out that the Meg's twin is a robot and so Meg returns safely home where she belongs with her family and friends. She and her brother Chris get invited to Horrorland, "Where Nightmares Come To Life!". There they go to Chiller House, owned by Jonathan Chiller. Meg gets a Floig, a small, green doll whose eyes pop out of their sockets, and a little Horror. When Halloween comes, Meg and Chris find a little boy in an orange alien costume who wrecks their house. Meg starts to suspect that the orange skin is NOT a Halloween costume......Finally, when Bim, the alien's name, leaves, Meg is mysteriously called back to Horrorland by Chiller. She then plays a game called "Double or Nothing". In the game Meg meets a phony her. A little later, Chris comes. He thinks that Fake Meg is his sister, not the other one. It happily and madly turns out that Fake Meg and "Chris" are robots made by Chiller. He sends Meg back home. When she gets home, and goes upstairs to her room, she finds Fake Meg in there!!!!!!GREAT JOB, R. L. STINE!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

They are both excited about Halloween, until they get an unexpected visitor at the door. At first, they believe it is a kid dressed in an alien costume, but soon realize it is an actual alien named Bim.Suddenly and mysteriously, Meg and Chris are transported back to Horrorland. They are chased by robots, Horrors, Goblins and Jonathan Chiller. How will they survive?Wow! Weirdo Halloween is twice the size of a regular Goosebumps book, and it is weird. Aliens, Goblins, and robots are thrown into this original Halloween tale, with a few twist and turns and a strange cliffhanger ending. It is a chilling read!

By Maebenerdy If you go to the book store now days all you see for young adults -even adults now for that matter- is stories about vampires, or werewolves, or turning into some other immortal being. It's getting tiring.The Other Worlds is not only a refreshing break from the blood suckers AND it is a REALLY great book.M.L. Greye has created such beautiful worlds, with characters that have character. I'm tired of books with these really flat main characters. This book does not. The Other Worlds is really well written and keeps you captivated within its pages.A GREAT READ. try it out.

This endearing book takes you for a ride with the bird and the elephant. They discuss several topics. The bird doesn't agree with the elephant. As they discussed their different topics the bird sees the elephant's thoughts.The bird is written in poetry which makes it all the more fun to read and ponder their thoughts. The book is geared for children but I think it is perfect for anyone to read from children to adults.Disclaimer: I received an arc of this book free from the author/publisher from Netgalley. It makes you think, and the "discussion poetry" is well written and enjoyable. I like the artwork as well. I'm not sure what the author means by "young," though. I tried it with a couple of different ages - and it was a little hard for several different age groups to grasp the concept at first. But they did enjoy the discussions that arose from the story and asked me to read it several times to them. After a couple of weeks, they started asking some really great questions as well, things they learned from this book.

About the Author Hank Quense writes humorous and satiric scifi and fantasy stories. He also writes about fiction writing and self-publishing. He has published 14 books and 50 short stories along with a few dozen articles. He often lectures on fiction writing and publishing and has a series of guides covering the basics on each subject. He is currently working on a series of two humorous novels that take place in the Camelot era. He and his wife, Pat, usually vacation in another galaxy or parallel universe. They also time travel occasionally when Hank is searching for new story ideas.

A Frustrated Princess With Moxie By Marta Cheng Moxie’s Decision by Hank Quense introduces readers to a world of Camelot worthy of a Monty Python parody. Moxie is a frustrated princess who has a head for business and big plans for her father’s cash-strapped kingdom. There’s only one problem with her plan, though. Her father, King Smedley, refuses to acknowledge her as his heir and her hateful Uncle Orrin has plans to eliminate Moxie in order to have his young son become ruler of Usca with him calling the shots as regent. This would be paralyzing for most young princesses of her ilk but Moxie isn’t like most princesses. She’s got brains, determination – and most important of all, moxie. She puts her plans into action by enlisting the help of three of Lancelot’s knights, Percivale, Bors and Gareth. She talks them into taking her to the Heroes Guild with plans to have them endorse her so that she can be trained in the art of fighting – a most important endeavor if Moxie plans on holding her own – and staying alive.Somewhat reminiscent of the computer-animated fantasy-comedy film, Shrek, the book is rife with modern-day references, a relaxed demeanor and dialogue that are a far-cry to the formal English spoken in Camelot’s court. At times very funny and somewhat poignant as it chronicles one young woman’s struggle to break out of the stereotypical cliché that is her birthright, Moxie’s Decision is an entertaining read that is in a universe all its own – forget about a parallel universe! If there’s anything negative to say about the book, it would be that it straddles the genre fence which may make finding a targeted readership somewhat difficult. On the one hand, the cover art is somewhat juvenile, suggesting that the book is targeted to younger readers, yet the various parodies and modern-day references suggest that it’s a book for an older audience who would be able to appreciate the author’s intended humor. Regardless of the intended audience, this is one book hat is sure to please!

Story of a feisty princess who has the fighting heart of a lion By Michelle Williams I think the author did a very good job in giving life to Moxie – a very feisty princess who has the fighting heart of a lion. The setting is familiar but still different as he draws on parallels from Camelot and current pop icons and celebrities. The language is certainly not British and there is the inclusion of the game of football as the great unifier.There is a lot of humour throughout this story as Moxie and her group of Knights take on various challenges as Moxie charges her way towards recovering her birth right. Here you can’t escape the age old reality of a woman in a man’s world and the constant bumps and battles that she must face.This story could be for teenagers but there is some spicy language and adult context that I think would not be totally suitable for them; maybe young adults, 20 years old and older. Overall I found “Moxie’s Decision” humorous and positive.

The book made me laugh in a few places and I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the characters and overall it was a fun read. I have been watching a show in Netflix called "Merlin" and this book reminded me of this show a little, * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Enchanting By katie lewington In this book the seasons, animals, naughty schoolboys and noodle goo are some of the subjects to be found in this collection of poetry from author, Francis Keene. These poems are short and I feel with less punch to them. The subjects are also not as varied as her previous collection but there are a few poems in this that are worth their weight in gold. Overall a joyful and playful read.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Delightful rhymes By Nancy Scott Keene creates wonderful imagery so important for language development and reading comprehension. She displays an excellent use of language with strong verbs, descriptive adjectives, and a creative use of alliteration. There's a nice combination of short, snappy rhymes (as in "Turtle Tuttles") and longer story poems (as with "The Fairy Queen Matilda"). Children with pets will especially enjoy "Dogs, Oh Dogs" and "The Catty Dinner Party!". This is definitely a book parents will enjoy reading to their young children and older children will enjoy reading on their own.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Add to your reading list! By Debthom Fantasy fiction is not a genre I typically read; I prefer more realistic plots. But, from the first chapter, I was engaged in this book. It has all the qualities of an excellent story--captivating characters, suspenseful plot, enticing prose, emotional twists, and descriptive settings. The author cleverly combined reality and fantasy which transported me to a believable world where dragons really do exist! I can't wait for the sequel, and there must be a sequel! I want to know more about how these three main characters with very different backgrounds came to be the deadly troubadours, and I want to know what happens next! Please publish the sequel soon!

Gripping New Fantasy World of Strong Characters with a Fast-Paced Story By Amazon Customer I was excited to get this book as part of Brent's Indiegogo campaign. I knew he had great story-telling and world-building abilities since he had done such a great job as the DM for our small D&D group, so I had high expectations. I was actually pretty blown away by how amazing his writing is, though! Since this is a self-published book, and his first, I thought it might be a little rough around the edges, but it really was an incredibly high-quality, gripping story that I would rank as one of the best fantasy books I've read in quite a while (although I'll admit there were some typos and misspellings as can be expected when self-publishing).The story started out very light-hearted as a reckless adventure by a group of youths, but quickly progressed to a much more serious and even (at times) dark story as we learned the backgrounds of each of the characters. As they continued on their quest their back stories were gradually revealed, lending depth to each character. Although the story is a bit male-dominated (70% of the characters are male), I deeply approve of the portrayal of women and men in the story - both are strong, both are weak, both are kind, both are cruel. It shows them as people rather as stereotypes. I especially enjoyed Kestra, the female of the main group, and her back story as well as her actions. She's the true warrior of the group and is shown to be so. The perspective of the female dragon was also completely engrossing, as was pretty much every perspective shown. Usually I feel that when authors tell a story from multiple perspectives it gets a bit confusing, but since each of these stories was leading back to the main quest, it all tied in cohesively into the larger story.I really enjoyed the world that Brent built and loved how this story played out. He brought it to a strong, compelling end, but there is obviously a need for a sequel to follow up on the characters and further events that we know must take place after the end. I strongly recommend this book to anyone in search of a good new fantasy world with strong characters and a fast-paced story (although I will caution that there is a bit of adult language and content which made me a little squeamish at times, so perhaps not for young readers).

By Rafael Munia For someone that never cared too much for stories of knights and dragons, I found myself immediately caught up by this narrative.Maybe because this book is more than a good story, but it is also a good and clever writing.You can see that nothing is put in the story without it being meant to be used (Chekhov would be proud), a character, a weapon, a statue, every element of the story is the beginning of a new and interesting one, which is behind what I like the most about this book: The narration style.Thomas narrates his story as if we are all drinking ale in one of the pubs in his book, listening to him tell his tales as the music and the beer involves us. It never feels tiring or contrived, and it allows for a proximity with the narrator without taking you out of the story being told.Above all, I think the author's style is very fresh, mixing the best of the "flâneur" type of stories with the best of the "friends on a quest" adventures, he creates something that is not another copy of more successful knights tales, but instead a great experience of adventurous savoir vivre.Plus, not only it begs a sequel, it begs a whole series that allows us to further explore the universe being created here.Definitely recommend it.
