2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A great read with a refreshing plot By John K Heavens' Inferno is a terrific book about the dawn of apocalyptic society. The plot is delightfully intricate for the Apocalypes. This is refreshing because, unlike others I have read, the authoer does a brilliant job of tying together human society, evolution, long forgotten myths, ancient religious fables and post-modern govenment into a believable plot that is only bound by the reader's imagination. This seems like something that could actually happen. And I'm glad that he thought long and hard about how to introduce the end of the world and how it really involves society. The plot isn't just thrust upon you like some other apocalype stories. Heavens' Inferno allows the reader to gradually matriculate through the beginning of the end with each character, trying to uncover the truth while making sure to hold onto what is left in this world. The characters themselves are rich and believable. The author does a great job of describing each in such a way that you can almost relate them to people you know in your own lives. The protagonist does seems to have an instant sense of heroism, which is great because he is a very strong character. But his doctor friend has, at times, an unrealistic ability to draw conclusions and to convince others of his theories without much supporting evidence. In the doctor's defense, he is a brilliant-thinker-character. So, this can be forgiven. I know people just like him! Thankfully, the author is not afraid to get down and dirty with his plot progression and descriptive surroundings. Fear of unleashing themselves is something that few new authors are willing to try because it is difficult to displayva little bit of your dark side to the world. We are all critics! But readers need the grit. It helps sell the story and truly involves the reader with the plot. The book also contains a masterful blend of pious landscapes and colorful backwoods settings, that are fresh in my mind, even days after reading. The history and lore are great. There are subtle allusions throughout the story that proves the author has done his homework. Few gramatical errors throughout are superficial and can be easily edited. But, there were some literary devices that need to be honed just a little. There are some confusing pieces of the characters' histories that should be made just a little clearer to the reader. In the context of the book, I get it, but they may have been revealed a little too early to stick with me througout the novel and have any significance. All-in-all, Heavens' Inferno is a great read. I couldn't put my Kindle down and was sneaking passages all day. My only fear is that that I won't be waiting too long for the next from this author. If this first book is any indication of how good a story-teller Nicholas DeAntonio is, then we should expect great things for the future.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Amazing read!! By Anna What a great apocalyptic fiction thriller that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. I simply could not put the book down. The story is reminiscent of any of the great doom and apocalyptic tales of the modern time, including those from the silver screen. I found the storyline to be very complex with a great flow, plenty of twists and turns, and cliffhanger moments. The sheriff, and the other characters in the story have been well developed and thought out. Each one has a distinct personality and characteristics that really adds color to the story. I love the author's writing style as I found it to be very descriptive with great imagery and deaths to the scenery throughout the story. If you like this genre love story as much as I do, then I think you will absolutely love this book. It is a real winner in my book! Put it on your reading list as soon as you can. Five big stars!

The author Mr Nicholas DeAntonio has done a superb job bringing Biblical times together with the current state of affairs ahead of "Our Beloved Nation". I give Nicholas easily 5 stars plus 2 thumbs up ! OUTSTANDING
