About the Author

Ruth Wodak is Distinguished Professor of Discourse Studies at Lancaster University. Her research interests focus on discourse studies; identity politics; racism, antisemitism and other forms of discrimination; and on ethnographic methods of linguistic field work. She was awarded the Wittgenstein Prize for Elite Researchers in 1996 and an Honorary Doctorate from University of Örebro in Sweden in 2010. She has held visiting professorships in University of Uppsala, Stanford University, University Minnesota, University of East Anglia, and Georgetown University (Washington, DC). She is a member of the British Academy of Social Sciences and a member of the Academia Europaea.  In 2008, she was awarded the Kerstin Hesselgren Chair of the Swedish Parliament (at University Örebrö).

Ruth is co-editor of the SAGE journal Discourse & Society, and of the journals Critical Discourse Studies and Journal of Language and Politics. However, says an e-supplement available on their website [...] with updated tax developments since publication. However, can only find 2015 supplement (for tax year 2014) posted on site, not 2016. Since many Federal tax law extensions were passed in December, without this update, publication usefulness is questionable for many situations. Other publishers have updates available- may want to check this before ordering.

I own a kindle fire 1st gen.The book itself--meaning the content--seems fantastic. The problem is that the Kindle edition leaves something to be desired. Unfortunately, the tables are a little bit off and for some reason I have to swipe through the same page more than 10 times to get it to move to the actual next page. The first time it did this, I thought, "Meh...these things happen in book conversions." But, this multi-swiping of pages has happened roughly six or seven times already, and I'm only on the third chapter. It has made reading the book a bit of a chore, something that I'm sure the author never intended. It is probably a better idea to get the old-fashioned paper copy until this gets worked out. I do believe it is worth investing in the book. In the meantime, I'm hoping Amazon will allow me a paper copy.

There is no better inexpensive tool than this to answer 90% of tax questions, even some fairly complicated ones. I've been using it for 3 decades. Just don't tell my clients that I pay so little for quality answers! It's a trade secret.

Little Blue Truck is my toddler's all-time favorite book. When I happened upon this larger version I knew we had to have it. I've purchased larger books before and been disappointed in the quality. Often times the pages are thinner, the images aren't as clear or bright, and the book overall is just not as durable. That is absolutely not the case here.This book is literally the exact same book in a larger size. Same thickness of pages, same rich illustrations, same durability (which is not to say it's invincible as my toddler is currently loving to death his second copy of the original book). I have attached a few photos of the lap book next to one of our copies of the original Little Blue Truck so you can see just how much larger this one is. My son's eyes lit up and his mouth came open as soon as he saw this book and it has been his go-to ever since. As much as he enjoyed flipping the pages of the original, I can tell he takes even more delight in turning the pages of this larger book and seeing the huge illustrations.We couldn't be happier with this product. It's a great story about being kind to others and reaping the benefits of kindness and friendship told in a most adorable way. I highly recommend this book!

We had the smaller version that she adored, but I figured she would like this better. The larger pictures really brings out the details, we point out all the animals and she mimics their sounds.We've kept the smaller one in the car, for travel time reading.

Mustache Baby Meets His Match is hilarious and yet it teaches some good lessons as well. That is a skill that few writers seem to possess and I am so glad that this book was written. It is a fun book for children - of all ages and just as cute as possible. My gang loves the mustache baby and we have enjoyed this adventure with him very much. This is a good book and does belong in school libraries and classrooms for sure. Five stars.

Protecting Emilie - a must read for parents fighting custodial injustice By Kristina Clements Protecting Emilie is a an eye opening book into the struggles brought on by the failure of our court system to truly protect children who are victims of one parent alienating the child from the other parent. This book reveals how parental alienation destroys the emotional development of innocent children. You will feel a true call to action after reading the story of Emilie and see how Florida Family Law failed her so miserably. I found the book to be extremely engaging, read it in two days, and have thought about what it revealed every day since. Protecting Emilie is a must read for anyone seeking just custodial rights and finding their innocent child stuck in a drama they don't deserve.

I applaud the author's love for her step-daughter and desire not just to hope that things will be better for other children and families but also the determination to document it and bring the truth to light. Ms Heim recounts in this book a 10 year struggle with one court appearance after another that fail to protect the innocent from abuse. I really appreciate the work put in to this book and found it so intriguing and shocking I could not put it down.

Not for naive children at all By Dr Jacques COULARDEAU The illustrations are interesting, delicate but definitely quaint and past-oriented, a very English past for the English colonizers and a very native and exotic past for the Indians. But the colors are sweet and soft. That's the best attraction of the book.The story line is the same as that of Pocahontas Wight Edmunds (1956) who stayed in a tradition that this story here represents. Nothing new in this book whose text is extremely short and thus very sketchy.But this book carries an ideology that is very irritating. It is openly racist against the Indians who are described as "stealthy redskins", "in their fiercest and most hideous war paints and trappings", "so many demons", etc. On the other side the English are "a band of pioneers and adventurers in search of gold, [coming] to take possession of the broad lands of America".And yet the courageous John Smith when he fell in an ambush protects himself in the worst and most cowardly way possible "holding his Indian guide in front of him, as a buckler", "shielding himself with the guide".These invading adventurers are shown as luminous and absolutely justified in their attempt because they "formed a new nation, the United States of America". That was a book for children. Today it is a book for very well educated and very critical adults.Do not entrust it to your kids without a long exchange and discussion with them.Dr Jacques COULARDEAU
