By LYNZ This book was given to us as a gift and as soon as I saw the bright, vibrant colors and adorable designs I knew it would be a hit with our little girl. Our daughter is 2 months old this week, and for the past week this has been her favorite book for us to share with her every day. I have never seen her light up and coo and giggle for any other book or any other pictures! Every page has a particular animal featuring a color, such as "orange ape", "green crocodile", "pink pigs", "blue whale", "red fox", "yellow snake", and "purple beetles" for example. Every page also has very creative "critters" and objects of many sorts for your baby to have fun spotting, so there is just so much learning and identifying object opportunities for young minds! The eyes on the animals are huge, which babies LOVE, and the animals all captivate her and invoke different reactions. I can't tell you enough just how much fun it is to see which colors will be her "favorites" each time we read this book together, and we read it a few times a day! I really love that the author uses unique color/ background combinations, such as "pink swamp" or "green beach" which wouldn't be found in nature -- I think this teaches babies to think outside the box at an early age -- brings out their creativity, if you will. Right now, the colors are what she loves, even the page edges are bright and colorful tabs. Soon, she'll start recognizing the animals and other shapes and critters more and learn about those as well. I'm in the process of buying all of this author's Alphaprints books!

We tried getting her into the soft books thinking she might like to touch them before 2 months old By K Port We have a ton of books for our newborn baby already. This is the first book that our baby showed interest in. At just under 2 months, she would smile at the pictures and be very engaged with this book. We tried getting her into the soft books thinking she might like to touch them before 2 months old, but she was not interested yet. Now, she is 3 months old and just started playing with the soft books and holding onto things the past few weeks. But, she still is very engaged and loves this book. Now she is just starting to giggle at the Pink Pigs and other pages. We love reading it to her, too.

She opens this one often and we're trying to teach her the colors. It's a very nice book and she seems to be interested when I read it to her, plus the creatures on each page have a bit of texture in the paper which she likes to feel. Anything that gets little children interested in books is a good thing in my opinion. It's very simple for small children, not much text, but the colors are represented well so they can learn them.
