Seeing that her husband needs some help, Beauty sends her son Goodwill to assist. Goodwill reminds his father that we all need a little gratitude to get moving some days. The story reminds readers that manners can go a long way. Warm-hued illustrations done in acrylics in a folk art style complement the text. This story of kindness would pair well with versions of Aesop's "The Lion and the Mouse" or other fables about the way we treat one another. About the Author

Jude Daly is internationally renowned for her delicately detailed illustrations. Though he works hard, he never complains and never rests. One morning, Jackson does something out of the ordinary and stops halfway up the hill and sits down. No amount of cajoling by the farmer can get Jackson to move.When the farmer becomes frustrated to the point of threatening to beat the donkey, his wife, Beauty, sends their son, Goodwill, to help. The boy whispers in the Jackson's ear and the donkey willingly goes up the hill again. To the farmer's astonishment, he learns simple words can make a huge differenceA sweet story emphasizing the morals of kindness and appreciation Warm acrylic illustrations aid in stirring young heartfelt emotions.
