Because when used correctly, this helpful, versatile, free app will make sure you never forget anything ever. Just like an elephant.I started using evernote a couple of weeks ago. Although I could see a lot of features, I could not learn or utilize all of them. There was this huge learning curve. Then I bought this book and on my very first skim discovered a ton of useful new features that I did not know existed on Evernote.I love the fact that this guide is formatted so nicely. Its not all confusing, its very neat and put together. With the awesome comments ,it makes it impossible for anyone not to understand what to do. This guide is for everyone from seasoned Evernote users to beginners.

And they do live there; you feel as though if you could only get to the Urwald you'd find them somewhere on The Path. This installment introduces some great new ones (the scholarly werewolf and the pedantic witch are unforgettable), and follows Jinx, Elfwyn and Reven as they take very different paths. Like JINX, JINX'S MAGIC is laugh-out-loud funny at some points, unputdownably exciting at others, and moving at times, particularly a devastating scene of clear cutting at the perilous border between the Urwald and Reven's land, and Jinx's reaction to it.I think middle-grade readers will particularly appreciate Jinx's frustration at being repeatedly underestimated due to his age and size; his growing understanding of Simon and Sophie's ( i.e. adult) relationship; and his realization that allies don't always share your values.

Solid and Rich Fantasy By Talvi Jinx's Magic is a solid, well written, intelligent sequel, smoothly continuing the story from the eponymous first book. Sage Blackwood's strength as a storyteller is her ability to weave very realistic and complex character studies but put them in a wholly realized magical world.In this volume 2 of Jinx's story, the boy is now 13 and helping Reven and Elfywyn (the prince in hiding and the girl who cannot lie) out of the Urwald and back to Reven's country to regain his throne. But the trees are unhappy, civilization is consistently removing the forest, and Simon's spell on the Bonemaster may not hold. Simon and Jinx must separate to different goals as Jinx must learn more about ancient languages, Listeners, and how to control the power of the Urwald as a scholar in Samara. Along the way, he will deal with talking werewolves, magicians, puppy love, confusing messages, and new friends.Through the course of the book, you really start to feel for Jinx. His loneliness, desire to make sense of his world, and deal with so many personalities (each with their own motivations) are palpable and well written. From the confusing talk of the trees to the frustrating condescension from the adults. He's not perfect, isn't really a hero character, but just tries to do the best he can with the cards he's dealt and his current sensibilities. That grounded nature is what keeps it interesting.For me, the best part of book really has to be the pithy commentary and snappy dialogue. This is an extremely well written story, with subtleties and clues really rewarding the aware reader. Jinx is never too smart for his age but also his practical nature grounds him into being so much smarter than many of the adults around him.In all, I'm very much enjoying this series. Received as an ARC from the publisher.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Well done middle grade fantasy novel! By Karissa Eckert I got a copy of this book to review through Edelweiss. This was even better than the first book in this series. It’s a well done middle grade fantasy novel and I enjoyed it. There will be a third book in this series.Jinx knows he can do magic but he doesn’t know why. Jinx is being followed by a werewolf with a notebook and the trees keep telling him that he is a Listener and needs to learn how to be a Listener to save the Urwald. When Simon goes to confront the Bonemaster and doesn’t come back Jinx is forced to journey into Samara to find the answers he seeks. Jinx wants to save the Urwald, he just doesn't know how and he can’t figure out what the Bonemaster and the mysterious elves have to do with everything.I enjoyed Jinx a lot more as a character in this book than the first. In the beginning he is given the responsibility of getting Reven and Elfywyn (the prince in hiding and the girl who cannot lie) out of the Urwald. On this journey Jinx is also trying to deal with the angry trees that want Reven gone. Jinx is trying to take on all of this responsibility and understand what the trees, Simon, Reven, and Elfywyn are all asking of him. I really felt for him at times...he has a lot to deal with and no one is being very helpful. Jinx isn’t a hero, but he’s practical and fairly smart and I enjoyed that.Jinx ends up spending some time at a school in Samara (where magic is forbidden and he is supposed to learn KnIP). KnIP means “knowledge is power” and if you know something is there it is...it’s a kind of magic all it’s own. I enjoyed it, there is a lot of humor here and it’s fun to watch Jinx master KnIP as well as the power of the Urwald. I also enjoyed the new characters added in from the school in Samara; they were well done and entertaining.There is a lot of adventure, a bit of intrigue, and some humor in here. It all amounts to a well done story. The story is complex enough to make you think, but not confusing. It’s just a perfect level for middle grade readers (and I think older readers and adults who love fantasy will enjoy it too).Overall I really enjoyed the story and can’t wait to see how things wrap up in the third and final book. This book is fast-paced, has some fun characters, adventure and magic. It’s a fun fantasy read that I think adults and kids both will enjoy. Recommended to fans of fantasy and magic.

About the Author Davida Hartman is a Senior Educational Psychologist in the Developmental and ASD Psychology Department for Carlow and Kilkenny, Irish Health Service Executive. She also consults, lectures and provides training on a range of topics related to supporting and educating children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. She has been working with children and adolescents with ASD for fifteen years as a psychologist and a teacher. Davida received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Trinity College Dublin, her MA in Educational Psychology from University College Dublin, and she is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). She is the author of Sexuality and Relationship Education for Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders also published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. By Ryan When I saw that Davida was putting out this set of books I ordered them immediately. I teach (and present) on the topic of Sexuality and Relationship Education for the Asperger's/Higher-independence ASD population so it is important for me to be aware of all materials that are available. While there are some nice books on the topic written for kids they all have a small problem-they're not visual enough and too wordy.Davida has outdone herself with these books-they are beautifully illustrated and are visually appealing to the visual learners. The amount of text is just right. The voice she uses is never babyish or condescending, it is exactly where it should be which makes these books accessible to kids with a variety of cognitive profiles, not just the ones who are labelled "High-functioning". The information presented here is relevant to those who do not have an ASD profile which is why I've told parents to use it with their typically developing children as well. One thing I particularlly appreciated about this set is the illustration of various body types.If you have a younger child with an ASD profile I suggest purchasing these books by age 10 at the latest. Even if your child is older than 10 still purchase this. Kids with ASD tend to have tremendous knowledge gaps when it comes to this material. These books are what they need.

By Claire Thanks so much for this opportunity to read a book that focuses on boys with special needs like Autism. I actually got this book in the hopes to understand my friend's son who's got autism spectrum, and also to help my friend on how to cope with her son, Brent. Together, we read the book to him, and thoroughly explained the stuffs he needs to do with his body while growing up. I like that the book also contains important information and advice for parents and guardians in order to properly provide for the physical and emotional well-being of the kids. He's learning a lot, thanks to the valuable pieces of information as well as the illustrations in the book. Definitely a book that growing up boys will enjoy, love and keep at heart!

Good book for pubescent boys By m pollard I requested this book because I have a son on the spectrum and know he is getting closer to the puberty years. This is a difficult subject for boys on the spectrum. As a parent I worry about the crushes and the rejection that he might face. The author does a great job writing about the pubescent boy and every aspect that entails.I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via NETGALLEY.

Good Health Advice for Anyone By John Wesley Smith The Gluten Free girls, as authors Kathy and Ros call themselves, are both knowledgeable and passionate. I believe you'll appreciate their encouraging way of dealing with what could be a difficult and intimidating topic. They met as a result of their mutual interest in nutrition and its role in digestive issues. Both of them had similar digestive issues and had a belief that what we eat is critical to good health.Their guide starts by saying that something you're eating is killing you. That sounds like sensationalism, but they maintain that wheat and the gluten found in it, and in a few other grains, is killing us slowly and silently. It's causing all kinds of health problems you wouldn't normally expect. Many of us already know processed foods aren't as healthful as claimed. In fact, many foods we've been told are good for us are really not so healthful either.Also, you might be gluten sensitive and not realize it. Sensitivity to gluten isn't the same as having Celiac disease. Only a small percentage of the population has to deal with that. It's the volume of grain we consume which causes us problems. Ros and Kathy encourage us to eat less grains than what we do. I know personally almost all the woman I know suffer with their freakin weight!If you are sick (literally) from fad diets and a waste of time and money like me, then you must read this book. These two women Ros Andrews, Kathy Strahan have opened my eyes.I have tried every diet in the world only to lose and gain back more.Then i thought what the heck i might as well try it.I got my socks blown off will the real truth, I found in this book.I have been cutting out the gluten and the first thing i noticed in the first week was the bloating had gone and my energy level came way up.So far after just a couple of weeks i have dropped 10 lbs.I will not complain! Because this is a way of life, not a fad diet!The way they give you ideas for your meals is NOT a DIET for sure, but delicious meals anyone will love!This is not about will power, but empowering yourself with information and then you are able to make better and healthier choices which you will find in this book...Good luck!

We finally got a chance to read this book together. My son struggles in reading. If he is really interested in the book it seems to be easier for me to get him to help read.

This is the first time i have had him ask me to pre-order him a book and offered to give me money. He reads the books alone and outloud to his 5 year brother and myself. We are all loving the adventures of Alexander, Rip & Nikki. He devoured this book in about 3 hours. The 8th is already ordered. Thank you Troy Cummings for bringing these books to my sons!

My 5 and 7 year old get straight into the story, love the characters, examine the illustrations, and are not only engaged but find the reading level to be challenging and accessible. This is just one series in the Branches collection and each title brings its own charm and story. We love them and are certain you will too.

This is the best Ramadan book I've read by far. It hits all the highlights about what the month is about, and it does so with lovely prose and illustrations. More than that though, it really captures the emotions of the month- excitement at sighting the crescent to begin Ramadan; tiredness, humility, thankfulness after a day of fasting; sadness as we realize the month is coming to a close; striving harder to do more good deeds; and excitement about the Eid celebration. I know it's hard for non-Muslims to understand the emotional attachment Muslims have for a whole month of fasting, but this book does a great job of trying to put those feelings into words. Well done Na'ima Robert and Shirin Adl!

The artwork is so unique, and the pictures illustrate the culture and practices really well. I sent this book to my son's preschool, and his teachers enjoyed them the most. She also has a Hajj one.

By Paul Mastin As the Deputy of my territory here in Texas, I do declare that Rodeo Red is the real deal, a bona fide top dog story book for the cowgirl in all of us! Maripat Perkins's cowgirl prose and Molly Idle's soft-hued illustrations lassoed me in from the get-go.It seems that Rodeo Red's territory is getting encroached upon by Slim, a small interloper, all with the approval of the Sherrif and Deputy . When this newcomer swipes Red's best hound dog Rusty, it's going to get ugly.Thankfully, Red didn't fall of the turnip truck yesterday. With some quick thinking and a bit of good luck, she reunites with Rusty and keeps Slim happy at the same time.I loved this book. It captures the dynamic of big sister and the new arrival, playing together and sharing versus delineating one's own space, the acknowledgment that mom is "Sheriff" and dad is her "Deputy," all in Red's cowgirl language and from her little cowgirl perspective. Winner Book number three is called Rodeo Red. It's written by Maripat Perkins and illustrated by Molly Idle. This is Maripat's first book and it's outstanding. The text stands completely apart from the illustrations in that there are times when the text feels like it's going one direction and the illustrations are revealing something else. And that makes this book really magical. In this case there's a girl who loves cowboy stuff, western gear, western-themed things, and she is joined now by a new baby in the house. So she's struggling with where she fits in. Where's her place when this new partner comes to town. And it includes some sort of funny things like you would expect cowboys to take care of on the ranch like rattling up the cattle and moseying things from here to there. and defending your territory. But it's just done so well in the way that the text and the illustrations have to work hand-in-hand to work this story. And Molly's illustrations! You know her from Flora and the Penguin and Tea Rex and books like that, and these illustrations are no different. She's got beautiful, round lines. Very emotive characters. And the perspective she shows all the time just makes you feel like you're in an old western flick. It's really great! By Wayne A McCoy 'Rodeo Red' is the kind of kids picture book that I instantly wanted to read out loud in my best cowboy accent. It's an adorably illustrated book that instantly took my back to my favorite picture books growing up.Rodeo Red and her favorite dog Rusty are completely content until her little brother "Side Swiping Slim" shows up to ruing things for her. She appeals to her parents, I mean the sheriff and her deputy, but they don't se things Red's way. When Slim decides to take an interest in Rusty, then Red decides to take matters into her own hands. Can this cowgirl find justice in a town where her best dog's been dognapped?This was such a cute story, and I loved the illustrations by Molly Idle. They reminded me of classic Golden Books, and that's the best praise I could give any children's books. The story is great for any child who suddenly has to share space and belongings with a younger sibling. The prose is lilting and made me want to practice my Sam Elliott impersonation and russle up some young critters to read to.I received a review copy of this ebook from Peachtree Publishers and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. You can see where older tales had been adapted as the Norse culture changed and in some cases the pagan roots definitely slip through. The common themes and somewhat repetative plots are the only elements that make the collection drag in some points. Over all though, an exellent book.

We took turns asking each other the jokes. We were all laughing so hard.Our favorite one was: Knock Knock? Who's there? Owls say.. Owls say who? YupWe were laughing so hard we have tears coming out of our eyes. When my husband came home, the kids were anxious to tell him a few of the jokes.This book is a great way to pass a little time. It would be great for a long car ride or a plane ride. It will surely keep the kids entertained.We spent about 20-30 minutes reading the book, but it took us a little longer because we kept stopping because we were laughing so much, and then we would retell the ones we thought were the funniest.

Can't Help But Laugh By siren.zombie I was afraid that this book would be filled with nothing but Knock Knock Jokes that I have heard through out the years and I have to say with as many as there are in this book I really only knew a handful of them. There are some that seem to repeat the same results but in different ways. However, the kids or children in my life do not seem to mind and love to just get a laugh out of them all. Though the children in my life are a little bit to young to read this alone I had no problems sitting there and going back and forth with them reading or saying the jokes. Plus they go a puppet to play with and act out back and forth with when the jokes were over and they decided to make then up themselves.I received this product free for exchange of my honest and unbiased review.

So this was the perfect book for him. He even remembered some the jokes so he could tell his little friends. There were a few that just were not funny. Luckily my 4 year old did not notice, and most of them were pretty cute. I see alot of the classics like from when I was a kid. We keep going back to this book again and again. I would recommend this book for some cute jokes for your small child.I received this book free for an honest review.
