Although I did enjoy the author's mermaid books, I have been reading her wonderful Amish books and following the characters since the beginning. It was a pleasure to read this book and learn more about Hannah and Jakob now that they are parents.Hannah discovered that it is not so easy to cook, clean, and do other day-to-day tasks with an infant to care for. Her husband Jakob didn't seem to understand how difficult it was for Hannah to keep up with everything. He was not pleased when Hannah's longtime friend, Mercy, dropped by for a visit. Mercy had some surprising news of her own.Jakob and Samuel, Mercy's husband, were among the men selected to possibly be the new preacher and that added to the young couple's worries. Although neither man was chosen, the man who was selected caused problems for the community immediately. He and his wife had just arrived from Ohio and were out to change things that they deemed too worldly. The two young couples were brave enough to take a stand before the new preacher destroyed the community and their livelihoods.I enjoyed learning more about the Amish and their customs. It was interesting to read about the way they choose their religious leaders. I especially like the way the author switches back and forth from chapter to chapter with different characters telling the story from their perspective. It is interesting to read and compare the two points of view. I also enjoy the Amish dialect that is frequently used throughout the book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I knew that this new book would be just as great.If you have read any of the author's book series such as Amish Hearts, Amish in College, and Amish Couples. Then you will absolutely continue to enjoy this story. Though it is not a pre-req.I have enjoyed following the characters (Hannah and Jakob) throughout the series of books. This particular book deals with what most young adults deal with, gossip. It happens in all types of societies including the Amish. It was very interesting to see the story unfold and see how Hannah dealt with the drama.Worth reading.

I could not stop reading and so I read this ebook in one sitting !!This is the first ebook in the Amish Friendships series. And continues the story of Hannah and Jakob. It also has other character's from previous stories in it as well.
