A compelling story that is part modern urban fantasy, part mystery novel filled with demonic possession, underground exorcist societies, and magically powered organized crime networks. The emotional complexity of the characters, and the primary relationship between the main characters, has a depth and complexity reminiscent of Kate Wilhelm. I look forward to the second book in the series!

Very interesting take on demons without stepping over the edge into terror and gore. Cant wait to read the next installment.

I like other urban fantasy writers like Kim Harrison and Charlaine Harris and this one gave me that same fun romance-plus-action feel.
