From School Library Journal K-Gr 2—A squeaking mouse sitting near a bubbling creek inspires an impromptu jungle band. A bird overhears the mouse and sings along, soon joined by a toe-tapping centipede. A monkey, a warthog, and eventually a crocodile playing his teeth like a xylophone participate in the jam session. Joyfully exhausted, the animals at last rest in a heap. To the mouse they cry, "We all helped it's true. But the person we should thank is…." The rhythmic, rhyming text is suddenly disrupted when the page turn reveals a large hippo shouting, "Me!" This unexpected participant divulges that his hiccups created the bubbling creek. The fun, colorful illustrations perfectly depict this musical romp in the jungle, which is sure to elicit some giggles. VERDICT This bubbly selection will be a hit with the storytime crowd.—Laura Hunter, Mount Laurel Library, NJ

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A book worthy of picking up your feet for. Lots of fun dance beats and laughs! By Sunshine on a Rainy Day SUMMARY: The animals of the jungle come together to make music beats with their animal sounds and create fun music. "Boom-ba-da-boom boom!" "Squeak, squeak, bubble, bubble, squeak, squeak, squeak!" But what is the hippopotamus doing?ILLUSTRATIONS: The pictures are simple for the younger crowd. They are full of bright colors and fun.REVIEW: I loved this book! I could easily see this book being used during group reading time while the children beat the rhythms that are repeated throughout. Or it could be used in a young children's music class. At home you could have so much fun saying the animal sounds with your child and making music. You need to follow the bubbles from the beginning though to fully understand the ending.AGE RECOMMENDATION: Ages 3-7
