About the Author Lucy Courtenay has been writing children's fiction for a long time. She's written for book series like The Sleepover Club, Animal Ark, Dolphin Diaries, Beast Quest, Naughty Fairies, Dream Dogs, Animal Antics, Scarlet Silver, Wild, and Space Penguins. Additionally, her desk drawers are filled with half-finished stories waiting for the right moment to emerge and dance around. By Splashes Into Books The space penguins - Captain James T Krill, Pilot Rocky Waddle, Security Officer and Head Chef Fuzz Allgrin together with the Ship’s Engineer Splash Gordon! - on board the spaceship Tunafish are being pursued by their ex-First Mate Beaky Wader (aka Dark Wader). Their names alone should give you some indication of the oceanic humour that is rampant throughout this great book. With a wide variety of aliens entering the Superchase Space Race, there are wicked plots afoot to ensure Emperor Anadin Skyporker wins again. Can the Space Penguins work together to win the race or will their old enemy, Dark Wader, finally defeat them? What will the Emperor do to ensure he wins the race and can the space penguins foil his piggy plans?I have no hesitation in recommending this really funny story with lots of pun-tastic humour, great illustrations and pacy action that will appeal to young independent readers. Anyone looking for something to interest and motivate a reluctant reader, this could be just the trick! It is divided into short chapters, making it easy for them to read in relatively small sections - though I suspect many will really want to read it to the end just to find out what happens!Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
